Oppo R9s is all set to be launched on 19th October, variant Oppo R9s Plus also up for launch

Oppo is a Chinese Smartphone manufacturer which is all set to launch its new phone in line Oppo R9s on 19th October in China. On 8th October Oppo sent out invitation regarding the launch of Oppo R9s to be held in an event in Shangai. The exclusive and major highlight of the camera centric phone is its Sony IMX398 camera sensor and with this the press invite contained replica of the sensor, which definitely calls for better marketing gimmick.

Oppo 9s Plus launch also expected

Although the event invite had no information about it but the variant Oppo 9s Plus is also expected to be launched alongside as reported by GSMArena.com. There is no leads on the prices currently but Oppo R9s Plus was seen in Chinese TV spot aired in China and the video gives insight about the phone and is expected to be in mid-upper price range. Oppo R9s was also seen in wild by PhoneArena and was certified in August by Teena. Playfuldroid also contributed to certain information about the phones and mentioned both the phones will be almost same with difference in their size only. Oppo R9s Plus is expected to be larger in size that Oppo R9s.

Feature Highlights of the phone

• The phones are expected to run on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor but information about OS is yet to be revealed.

• It is to sport a full HD display screen of 5 inch along with 1080p display resolution that calls for sharp clarity.

• The Oppo phone is expected to have an inbuilt memory of 4GB RAM along with an internal memory of 64GB ROM.

• The major highlight of the phone is its camera features with a rear camera of 16-megapixel with f/1.7 aperture along with a front shooter of 13-megapixel.

• The phone is expected to be backed by 3010 mAh battery for superior talktime as compared to 2580mAh battery in Oppo R9. The VOOC fast charging technology will be a major boost for quick charging.


The main highlight of the phone is its Sony IMX398 sensor that is built on similar grounds of Samsung’s Dual Pixel technology. The phone is expected to give a good sale value as compared to Oppo R9 and Oppo R9 plus and will initially be only launched in China. There is currently no information about its launch in any other international markets.
