Casio is one of the longest standing and most well-known electronics companies in the world. It was founded in 1946 in Shibuya, Tokyo, Japan, where it now has its headquarters, by Tadao Kashio. While he was not an electronics expert when he founded the company, he was an engineer who knew how to fabricate just about anything. The company’s first product wasn’t even an electronic it was a specialized ring that would hold a cigarette so the smoker could smoke more of it without burning his fingers.
While it might not sound like it would be, the invention was a huge success, not only because it was fabricated so well, but because it filled a need in the market. After the Second World War, Japan was extremely poor and smokers did not want to waste cigarettes this allowed smokers to smoke more, without paying for more cigarettes.
While the company’s first product had little to do with the product that they would eventually sell, it is an excellent example of Casio’s commitment to producing products that meet the needs of their customers. Casio was the first, for example, to produce an electric compact calculator, just over ten years after the company was founded, filling a huge void.
Features of Casio Cameras
Casio makes some of the best digital cameras on the market. They were one of the first companies to embrace digital technology and have continued to improve on it to provide inexpensive, functional cameras. While they do have a range of very expensive, professional cameras, they also have a number of low-cost digital cameras that can turn even the most amateur photographer into a professional.
One of the best features of Casio cameras is their size. They are designed to be slim enough to slip into a pocket or bag, so you can take them anywhere. The point and shoot functionality makes it extremely easy to get great pictures of just about anything, but there is also the ability for the user to adjust the settings, if they are more familiar with how a camera works.
Ranging from 12 Megapixels to 14.1 Megapixels, and with both advanced optical and digital zoom, it’s easy to get a clear picture even of far away objects. Most models will also take an SD card, for expandable memory—that means even more pictures and they’re easy to transfer to a computer.
