AMD Radeon RX 470 Launched at Rs 15990

Mainstream Gamers will be glad to know that AMD has launched Radeon RX 470 GPU on August 5. According to the news earlier, the launch was expected and the firm has launched it on the same expected day. This new GPU is a cut off version of Radeon RX 480.

Highlights of the Launch :

• Gamers who not go above 1920 x 1080 Resolution are the main target audience.

• Games which support DirectX 12 & Vulkan will have improved performance.

• The Graphic Card has a price tag of Rs 15990.

A lower version of Radeon RX 480, “The AMD Radeon RX 470” is released by the firm. The new Graphic Card will make it easier for AMD to target low budget gamers as well as those gamers who never go beyond 1920 x 1080 Resolution. This new launch will make AMD’s reach to more users because of its low price. It is expected that AMD may also launch a lower-end Radeon RX 460. This will be based on Smaller Polaris-11 GPU.

Specifications of AMD Radeon RX 470 :

Radeon RX 480 was based on Polaris-10 GPU design and this new Radeon RX 470 is also based on the same design. RX 470 has some lower specifications than RX 480 which leads it to offers a bit lower performance than RX 480 but cuts its price too. The AMD Radeon RX 470 GPU is has total 5.7 Billion Transistors in its overall structure which all are made on a 14 nm process.

 

This will also feature 4 GB GDDR5 RAM on a 256 Bit Memory Bus. Total board power draw of this GPU is rated at 120W & its reference design needs a 6 Pin PCIe Power Connector. This will keep it below PCIe Power Draw Threshold that was a problem associated with RX 480. This design of GPU has 3 Display Port Connectors as well as an HDMI Port. It also supports HDR Video Output as well as AMD’s FreeSync Variable Refresh Rate. It also has WattMan Overclocking Tool that is integrated into Radeon Crimson Desktop Software.

Price of new GPU :

Originally the GPU has a price of $179 or Rs 11967 (excluding all kind of taxes) but for 4 GB Radeon RX 470 Cards is officially announced at Rs 15990 in India. This price is the official announced by AMD yet third party manufactures will offer their own price for this GPU.
