HP is known for creating innovative products and with this has announced the new convertible laptop which is specially designed for school kids and their education. The laptop is designed in a way that it is able to resist or withstand accidental spills that most kids tend to do. The HP ProBook x360 rugged laptop is going to be 2 in 1 laptop and as per the claims by HP it is world’s thinnest laptop.

Specifications of the laptop

• The laptop as claimed by the company to be thinnest laptop has a 360-degree rotatable hinge that enables it to be used as tablet and also make it standstill for ease of viewing.

• The laptop has a dual camera set-up along with HD camera and 1080p resolution for high end clarity. The HD camera is embedded in keyboard that enables users to use the laptop as tablet while taking video.

• It has a screen size of 11.6-inch laptop that runs on the latest Windows 10 and the display glass in well protected via Corning Gorilla Glass that gives resistant to damage. It comes with a screen resolution of 1366 x 768 pixels with LED Display.

• The HP laptop is powered by Intel Celeron or Intel Premium Processor and is backed by a internal memory of 8GB RAM along with 64GB ROM inbuilt storage with support for microSD card.


Other features and protection

The keyboard and the entire laptop is designed keeping in mind school students and is designed in way to protect from spills of about 12 ounces of liquid. It also comes with an inbuilt “Take a Test” app that enables one to undertake secure test taking methods. It also comes with “Set up School PCs” which helps teachers to set up devices in easy three steps. It is compatible with digital Writing pen along with an Active Pen as additional accessory. Through test the laptop fulfils the MIL-STD 810G standard and using this tough it is ascertained that it is durable enough for school environment.


The 2-in-1 laptop is designed for school children and is expected to be made available from December 16th onwards worldwide. It has undergone many tests and thus is now suitable for school children and environment. The price of the laptop is yet to ascertained and it comes with great connectivity that supports USB Type C ports, HDMI 1.4b port, 3.5mm audio jack and the battery is superior enough to stay up for 11 hours of school activities and homework.
