Karbonn Titanium S8 Mobile Price List in India

This handset has officially been announced in November 2014. Karbonn has expanded its Titanium series with the launch of S8. This is another entry level smartphone addition to a list of many. Karbonn has provided big screen to this set and it comes up having 5-inch bigger screen. This is a beautifully built device from Karbonn which attracts buyers attention in first go. The dual SIM handset brings its fantasies with latest Android v4.4.2 KitKat OS which is a plus from the company. Rest all features are of average nature and nothing much of eye catching feature has been observed in it.

Features and Specifications

This is a dual SIM handset available in two different colors i.e. white and gold. The main feature of the device is its latest OS which is Android v4.4.2 KitKat. It also has two cameras, the back one is of 8MP with flash and the front camera is of 0.3MP. The screen is large multi touch. The size of the screen is 5-inch. Its processor is 1.3GHz quad core. RAM is limited and is 1GB while the internal storage is 8GB but widely extendable even to 32GB which is a lavish addition from Karbonn. Battery provided to this device is 1800mAh and the connectivity offered with it is Wi-Fi, microUSB, Bluetooth and 3G.

Design and Quality

The design of the device is very attractive. Both the colors have attractive and nice feel. The front screen looks stunning when illuminated and below it resides the three navigation keys. The speaker is located widely at the back below the 8MP camera at the lower end. The edges of the phone are beautifully curved. The back cover is non removable which means the battery cannot be removed. The volume rocker and the camera quick buttons are located towards the side. The shiny metallic bezels around the four sides brings glowing look to the device. Even though the device has large screen, it can be easily handled with single hand.

OS and Tech

Karbonn took a giant leap in the technology by providing an upgraded version of OS to a mediocre smartphone. This phone has Android v4.4.2 KitKat OS which is hardly found in mid-range devices. Due to this, the phone is well capable to perform multitasking and no performance lags have been observed by now. The problem may sometimes be created due to limited RAM. The processor is even powerful enough to give smooth performance of the device.

Camera and Multimedia

The camera performance is not up to the mark. The back camera is 8MP with flash light. Under normal light conditions, it does give acceptable images but they are not of high quality. Under low light conditions, the performance of the camera gets totally destroyed and the same happens to the video recording quality. Videos recorded under good light conditions give better feel but are quite shaky and noisy. The front camera which is of 0.3MP has the same issues when used for fallacies.

Battery and Memory

1800mAh battery though seem less but for a phone having mediocre features and specifications like Karbonn Titanium S8, this much battery is fair enough to keep it running for whole day under moderate use. This battery doesn’t support heavy use of the phone and needs to be recharged after 5-6hrs under heavy use. Due to large size of the screen, the battery also gets easily discharged but recharging doesn’t take much time which is good news for low batteries. The RAM is 1GB which is good for this phone but it may not cope with the powerful processor and OS. The internal storage though is limited to 8GB but has the extension facility and it can be further extended to 32GB which is quite large memory and one cannot expect this much battery for a mid-range smartphone.

Verdict

Karbonn Titanium S8 is yet new in the market and buyers are yet to be attracted towards it. The most noticeable part of it is its design and beautiful build. The design and the soothing colors (white and gold) can easily attract buyers. Another selling point of the phone is its latest OS which is very rarely found in mediocre smartphone. Rests of the features are very normal but the device is all ready to give good competition to most of the mid-range smartphone in the market. Users need to see what is more worth to them before buying any handset.
