When it comes to RAM, it has 1GB RAM and 8GB internal memory. The RAM is though limited but with the presence of powerful processor, this may not result in any performance lags. The screen is large of 5-inch and the phone is offered with two powerful cameras. The 13MP rear camera along with LED light and auto-focusing feature and the 5MP front camera for video calls suits perfectly well to the handset. The battery here is 2000mAh which is fair enough matching the rest of the features. The internal memory is extendible to enlarge it to up to 32GB for extra storage and more fun. The connectivity options include Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, USB, GPS, GSM but no 3G or 4G support.

Design and Quality

Since phablets are getting more popular these days so the Intex Aqua Amaze is also launched with 5-inch large screen so it is ranked under phablets category. The look of the screen is very attractive. The construction material of the phone is plastic which is of average quality and it comes in two different colors, black and light blue. The finishing is boxy rather than providing curvy finish. Even though the phone has large screen, it is very easy to handle the phone with single hand. All side buttons are easily reachable with single thumb or finger. The 5-inch larger screen gives 1280x720p resolution along 16M colors. The phone is lighter enough with a thickness of 7.6mm.

The OS it runs on is Android v4.4 KitKat which is a latest OS for mobile phone and is perfect for providing quick and efficient multitasking. This is coordinated well with the powerful processor and the performance of the phone then becomes just flawless. Though the RAM is limited but hopefully this will not create any problem with the normal working of the phone. The phone has been classified among the mid-range mobile phones due to the presence of 1.4GHz processor though it is powerful but many other phones having similar processors do have reasonable prices and better RAMs.

The camera has exclusive high ranged cameras. A 13MP front camera with LED flash and autofocus features highlights its beauty. The phone doesn’t provide full HD feature and this could be one of the drawback for the set and the reason given for it by the company was that at this much price, they couldn’t offered HD. Camera performance is satisfactory giving good quality images in proper light but problems and noisy has been observed while doing photography in low light. The 5-inch front camera is perfect for selfies and provides excellent results on video calls even though it is not supported by the flash. The 5MP front camera normally is rare in affordable priced smartphone.

Battery and Memory

The battery life is 2000mAh giving 6hrs of talk time and about 180hrs of standby time. This battery works perfectly well under normal mobile use and survive the whole day. Under heavy use, it does though require recharging but if the screen’s brightness is set to low, then this much battery is also good under heavy use. The internal storage is 8GB which seems less as most of the apps are installed on internal storage. This can be enhanced to 32GB with the help of microSD card. The RAM is limited to 1GB here.

Verdict

The phone is a good release among smartphone category. It though is a mediocre phone but some of the features are extraordinary for any set in affordable range. The 13MP back and 5MP front camera are exclusives of this phone. The overall performance is satisfactory but comparing it with other similar phones, one would think many times before investing in it.
