Features and Specifications

Swipe Ace has 6.97-inch screen with 1024x600p resolution and is of type IPS capacitive touchscreen. The OS it runs on is Android v4.4 KitKat and has been powered by the 1.3GHz Quad core processor which supports dual SIMs. It has 5MP rear camera along with and LED flash light having autofocus feature while the front camera is 2MP which is used for the video calling as well as selfies. The internal storage is 16GB which is expandable further through microSD card making it 128GB. RAM over here 1GB. The battery of this tablet is 2800mAh and different connectivity options are included like 3G, Bluetooth, Mobile Hotspot, Wi-Fi, microUSB, GPS as well as A-GPs.

Design and Quality

Swipe Ace has got a very attractive design. It has tapering top and bottom with decently rounded edges.  The back is made up of metal which looks elegant in silver color. The front is glass. There is a lot of free space at the top and bottom of the screen which helps in grabbing the phone without destroying the screen. The back panel is divided into three halves. The top half is non-removable carrying the rear camera at the top left corner while the bottom half can be removed revealing the battery and the microSD card slot. There is a speaker grille as well in the second half of the back panel while the third half is fixed as well without carrying anything. At the top of the screen is the front camera and the main speaker grille while at the bottom of the screen has the navigation keys.

OS and Tech

Android v4.4 KitKat has been preloaded into this device which is not a recent OS now as the expectation were that it would come up with Lollipop version but this couldn’t be materialized. KitKat works fine if there is a good amount of support from the RAM and the processor. RAM though is limited here so there may be little laps in performance observed at time but in generally the multi-tasking in the tablet is quite decent.

Camera and Multimedia

Generally the tablet cameras are not of good quality and are placed just for the sake of putting extra burden on the device. This tablet is also equipped with two cameras and both have decent specifications but the performance is not as good as it was expected. The rear camera though has been given nice support from the flash light and it has autofocus feature but still even under good light, the images are observed lacking full details. Under low light, the performance of the camera get worse and the images get blurred. The front camera on the other hand works decent for the video calls and the selfies. The videos recorded by the rear camera also suffer from same performance issues.

Battery and Memory

2800mAH Li-ion battery provides a decent working time of the tablet making it about 8-10hrs under moderate use. But if the phone is used for the video and voice calling and heavy internet surfing than the time is obviously reduced to almost half of the time and makes it about 4 hours which is again not bad. RAM should have been increased since 1GB RAM is not sufficient for the tablets while the internal storage is awesome along with nice expansion of 128GB.

Verdict

Swipe Ace is a decent addition to the tablet line already introduced in the Indian markets. It has a good and attractive design with decent hardware specifications. Not every device is almost perfect so this also has some flaws which have to be taken into consideration by the company in order to make improvements in the next launch. This though provides a good value to the price. There are competing devices in the market like Micromax Canvas Tab P690.
