Business tablets have always struggled when using a bulky Windows operating system, but Windows 8.1 is offering a much better fit, with a growing group of tablets using this OS. It is chocked full work friendly features and is very well designed.
Features & Specifications
The Venue 8 Pro comes with an 8 inch display with 1280 x 800 pixels with pixels per inch of 189. The tablet is powered by a 1.8GHz Quad Core Atom Z3740D with 2GB of RAM and 32GB of built-in storage. A microSD card can add an additional 64GB. It has a 1.2MP front facing camera, along with a 5MP rear facing camera. The battery has a 4830 mAh capacity and connectivity for the tablet includes 4.0 Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and 2.0 USB and it runs Windows 8.1.
Design and Quality
The tablet is very well designed, clad is soft-touch plastic with a wide bezel around the screen. This is a sturdily made tablet that can withstand a few knocks. Its dimensions are 216 x 130 x 9 mm with a total weight of 393g. The tablets volume rocker, power button and microUSB port are on the top of the right hand side. There is a windows button and 3.5mm audio jack on the top of the tablet, and a flap on the left hand side for the microSD card. The cameras are on the centre of the back panel and the top right of the front panel.

The Dell Venue 8 Pro runs Windows latest OS, 8.1. This OS is well suited to the tablet market and comes with a range of business friendly features, like the stylus, expandable storage and a range of support options.
Camera and Multimedia
The front facing camera is 1.2MP, and you can comfortably video chat with the 5MP rear facing camera. There is no flash on the tablet, so low level video and photos is a challenge. On the multimedia front there is a huge range of features, as with any Windows OS based machine, music and video players and editors, document viewers and editors and much more.
Battery and Memory
There is a hefty 4830 mAh battery in the Venue 8 Pro which Del say that under moderate use, without the brightness up full, will get 9.9 hours of life, meaning that it is up there competing with the iPad Mini 2 Retina. The tablet has internal storage of 32GB which can be extended using a microSD card of up to 64GB in size.

A neat little tablet that does its job very well. There are a few areas, such as the storage and performance where there could be some improvements made, but overall, it is a great tablet for either using around the house or for your office.
