Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 T211 Tablet Price in India
It was indeed a surprise that most of the people ended up using the Tab 2 7.0 as their primary phones. This was done by the efforts made by some of the smartphone manufacturing companies to blurred the lines between the smartphone and tablet more clearer and the best example of it can be found in case of Sony’s Z Ultra. With more tablets having calling features are releasing in the markets, the more people are getting diverted towards them rather than smartphone. Galaxy Tab 3 is another such effort which is a 7-inch tablet and has been released for the same price as the Tab 2 previously.
Features and Specifications
The weight of this tablet is 306g supporting SIM as well. The screen is 7-inch large with the type TFT capacitive touchscreen offering 16M colors and the resolution of the screen is 600x1024p and supports multi-touch. The OS in this case is Android v4.1.2 Jelly Beans and the processor is 1.2GHz Dual-core. The RAM in this device is 1GB while the internal storage is 8/16GB depending on the version and the expansion to the both type of memory is up to 64GB using microSD card. The primary camera here is 3.1-inch having autofocus and geo-tagging feature and capable of recording video at 720p. While the front camera is 1.3MP for the selfies and the video calls. It has 4000mAh Li-ion battery which is non removable. Numerous connectivity and communication features are provided to it like GPS, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, A-GPS, microUSB, GSM/LTE.
Design and Quality
This tablet also borrows the same design elements from the Galaxy Note 10.1 having rounded edges and the sides are little concave. The bezels around the screen are quite thinner which reduces the height and width of the tablet. It is thinner and is of 9.9mm thick and weighs on 306g. But this much weight still feels heavy for a tablet. The front of the device is having 7inch screen made up of TFT capacitive touchscreen technology while there is no screen protection provided so it is prone to scratches. At the both sides of the screen are the earpiece, array of customary sensors and different buttons. But the look of this device is better than its older versions as the microSD card slot and the MicroSIM card slot have flip covers while there are also volume rocker and the power button. With the microUSB port towards the bottom is also placed the stereo speaker. The back of the tablet is very glossy which is not at all interesting and is prone to fingerprints. Towards the top of the back has the 3.1MP camera and the front has the 1.3MP camera. The look of the tablet is quite fresh and this has been due to the white paint and the slim bezels but rest of the design elements are not changed.
OS and Tech
The built-in OS in it is Android v4.1.2 Jelly Beans and the UI over it is Samsung’s TouchWiz. The OS is quite capable enough to provide swift multitasking and better performance to the device due to the nice processor. But despite of having Jelly Beans OS and the 1GB of RAM, the UI is still very laggy and at times seems as if everything has got freeze up for some seconds.
Camera and Multimedia
The fixed focus back camera is very lazy and works average for the outdoor shots. But the indoor experience is also not different and one cannot expect of getting any improvement in the indoor shots. Videos can also be recorded by it at 720p but there are also of low quality. Though the front camera has recently been upgraded from VGA to 1.3MP but the videos it records are still of poor quality.
Battery and Memory
Battery can be called a silver lining in this tablet. This much battery can very easily provide up to 8hrs of tablet use which includes calls, video and music playback, web surfing and YouTube streaming. It even eats up battery very slowly and if the brightness of the screen is minimized, the more life this battery can provide to the tablet. RAM here is 1GB which is quite nice and the internal storage is 8/16GB which is also good along with decent expansion up to 64GB.
Pros and Cons
For Pros:
· Decent design
· Nice screen
· Good battery
· Powerful processor
· Good OS
· Decent RAM and internal storage
· Expandable memory
For Cons:
· Average and lagging UI
· Poor camera
· Borrowed design
Verdict
This tablet is nothing more than a disappointment as it hardly brings any improvement in the last year model. The performance of this device even got worse than its previous versions. It has been priced high for the 8GB of storage while there are better priced tablets with better storage capacity already available. The only highlighting feature of this tablet is battery life. Its rival Asus FonePad comes at much cheaper price than this one and offers 32GB of built-in memory which is much better option.
