Samsung reveals launch of Tizen 4.0 in September 2017 with .NET support

It was last year that Samsung tied hands with .Net of Microsoft and soon started working on the development of Tizen 4.0. Recently Samsung announced the release of Tizen 4.0 Version with .NET in September 2017. The developer of the latest Tizen 4.0 has provided a roadmap detailing important features of the all version. It was confirmed by Samsung who said – “The first official version of Tizen .NET will be released in September 2017 as part of Tizen 4.0.” In order to keep developers updated with Tizen.Net, Samsung to release preview or beta version in two or three months.

Big competitor for Android

Google’s Android sort of played monopoly with most of the phones including the OS but with the launch of Samsung’s final version of Tizen 4.0 OS, it is expected to stand as competition for Android. The company has already used Tizen OS in multiple Samsung phones and currently around 50 million phones are powered by it. As of now Samsung is expected to bring lot of improvement and upgrade the existing OS with the final release of Tizen 4.0S. The Tizen OS is based on Linux.

Expected features of the Tizen OS 4.0

There are many details specified in the roadmap that was produced by the developers of the software and it is expected to be revealed by this month. The Tizen 4.0 NET is connected with .NET with support for ARM and x86 processors. It is also expected to support Xamarin.Forms 2.5.0. The OS is now supported with .NET and thus now applications can be written using .NET framework along with support for HTML5 and C language.

Conclusion

Samsung has partnered with .NET from Microsoft last year and it is an open source project. Samsung has announced release of multiple previews of the OS before the actual release of Tizen 4.0 OS in September, 2017. At the time of collaboration with Microsoft, it was also officially announced by Samsung that will start officially shipping Samsung Devices with the Tizen 4.0 OS in 2017. With the release of the OS, the market for Android might constrict. Google has also tied up with .NET foundations technical steering group like Samsung has done.
