Earlier this week the company took a dig at rivals OnePlus and Xiaomi through an image which mocked the two brands. The image said “R.I.P. Plastic and Sandstone. True Power Lies in Metal.” Very clearly stating that the new Yu Yutopia was going to trump its competition because it was going to sport an all-metal body, hence, giving it the premium look that some of its competition still doesn’t have.

Micromax didn’t stop at OnePlus and Xiaomi, they went on to mock Samsung itself. The company’s official Yu Twitter account sent out the following tweet a couple of days ago:

The image shows a Samsung Galaxy series device and the caption hints that unlike Samsung devices the Yu Yutopia will be a device that consumers can customize as per their needs.

Can the Yu Yutopia live up to the hype?

If there is one thing we know about a Micromax Yu brand phone, it is that everytime the company launches a smartphone under the Yu brand it creates hype like no other device around it, thanks entirely to Micromax’s brilliant PR efforts. But creating hype is not enough, the Yu Yutopia must deliver on its hype because as we have seen in the past some Yu phones probably weren’t as spectacular as they were hyped to be.
