Along with launching the high-end Yoga 900 laptop a couple of days ago Lenovo has also announced a groundbreaking work Tablet. The Lenovo Yoga Tab 3 Pro is exactly what Lenovo needs to compete with Apple, Google, and Microsoft in the Pro Tablet segment.

The Yoga Tab 3 Pro is one of the most powerful Tablets in recent memory. The Pro tag is intended to draw attention to the Tablet’s ability to be a truly work-centric Tablet computer. Few would have thought this would even be a category when the iPad launched in 2010. Fast forward to 2016 and it is well and truly an all new category which is beginning to find good traction with consumers that like taking their work everywhere they go.

Microsoft’s Surface Pro 3 was a fantastic success for the work Tablet category. It’s successor, the Microsoft Surface Pro 4, is unarguably the most powerful Tablet (that doubles up as a laptop) going around. Google has also introduced a work Tablet in the Google Pixel C, while Apple’s iPad Pro has been making waves for quite some time now. So for Lenovo to launch the latest iteration of the Yoga Tab Pro series right at the onset of 2016 should is a brilliant strategic move.

When compared to its competitors Lenovo seems to have adopted a cautious design approach. Unlike its rivals, Lenovo isn’t keen on offering a Tablet that doubles up as a laptop. This is mainly because Lenovo has a brilliant range of convertible laptops in its arsenal. Nobody makes high-end, jazzy, and quality convertible laptops at par with Lenovo’s current line-up.

Specification – Lenovo Yoga Tab 3 Pro

Instead of taking the Tablet to laptop approach the company has taken a laptop to Tablet approach and wants you to buy a separate device if you truly want a work Tablet. Doesn’t sound like a bad strategy to us. Albeit a very different one.

This is why the Lenovo Yoga Tab 3 Pro, which is Lenovo’s best offering in the Tablet segment, has a 10.1 inch IPS display with 10-point  Multi touch. The Tablet comes with a 2.24 GHz Quad Core Intel Atom X 5-Z8500 processor with 2 mb cache memory. The device has a 2 GB LPDDR3 RAM and 32 GB internal storage which is expandable up to 128 GB.

The Tablet also comes with a 13 megapixel rear camera with 180 degree rotation, autofocus, and gesture control along with a 5 megapixel front facing camera. The Yoga Tab 3 Pro comes packed with all standard connectivity options including 4G connectivity. It also boasts of 4 front facing JBL speakers with Dolby Atmos.

Perhaps the most impressive among all Yoga Tab 3 Pro specs is its incredible battery capacity. The Tablet has a 10200 mAh battery which supports Fast Charge and lasts up to 18 hours on a single full-charge. The standby time, as claimed by Lenovo, is a staggering 49 days. That sure is one powerful battery.

The USP of the Lenovo Yoga Tab 3 Pro

Undoubtedly the USP of this Tablet is its integrated rotatable projector. The Tablet has a rotatable hinge and the projector delivers a super bright 50 lumen output to project an image of up to 178 cm on a wall or ceiling. This adds to the Tablet’s glamour quotient and allows you to turn any room in to a theatre.

Of course if you are using this as a work Tablet, as it is intended to be, pulling out a projector from your bag to pitch an idea to your boss through a presentation is a thrill you would have to experience to believe. Here’s hoping your boss is as open to new ideas as he/she will be to a product as cool as the Yoga Tab 3 Pro.
