Compared to the high-end LeMax, the Le 1S is the smaller sibling with a price tag of Rs. 10,999. This smartphone was released with much fanfare as it is endowed with some powerful hardware, versatile features and smart apps. The question is whether the Le 1S will be able to make a dent in the already dog-eat-dog situation prevailing in the budget phone market?

Specifications – LeEco Le 1S

Despite its competitive price tag, the LeEco Le 1S appears to be glamorous and glossy chiefly because of its fully metallic body. The smartphone has a 5.5 inch screen that throws up full HD pictures by taking advantage of IPS display technology. A screen casing made of Corning’s Gorilla Glass 3 safeguards the display from sudden and untoward bumps, grazes, and abrasions. The overall look is minimalist yet arrests your attention somehow. Atop the screen, you have the proximity sensor, receiver, front camera, ambient light sensor, and the LED notification. The mirrored fingerprint scanner at the backside that is instrumental in opening up the screen and also helps in clicking photos is one of the most noteworthy features of Le 1S. The gold-hued plasticized panels around the bezel at the bottom and top enable the phone’s antennas to tap signals more effectively as well as heighten the gadget’s look. The smartphone also doubles up as a remote and can be made to function like one using an IR blaster through the remote control app.

Who is the Le 1s competing against?

Propositioning the Le 1S to consumers on the lookout for economically-priced smartphones might be a tall order especially when other brands with comparable features are available at lesser prices. But then it might be harder to offer enough reasons why one should not go for this phone. Nevertheless, the Le 1S will face stiff competition from the Huawei Honor 5X and the Huawei Honor Holly 2 Plus priced at Rs. 12,999 and Rs. 8,499 respectively.
