The Aqua Style X is a Dual SIM touchscreen smart phone with a 4.5 inch capacitive touchscreen. The resolution is 540x960 pixels. Armed with a 512MB RAM and 4GB internal storage, the phone is a low price range model. While some features are a steal at its cost price, certain features definitely make us go ‘that is it?’ Let us take a look.

Design and Quality:

At a quick first glance, it might seem like Intex was inspired by the iPhone while designing its own Aqua Style X model. With curved edges and availability in white and black, it is easy to believe this. But we are going to give Intex the benefit of the doubt here. The phone has external volume and power buttons to the right. The design is simple and good to look at.

The phone sports a 4.5 inch qHD IPS touchscreen with a resolution of 960x540 pixels. The pixel density is 245ppi. The resolution and pixel density are good for a low price range phone. The phone weighs 130 grams.

OS and Tech:

The phone is armed with an Android 4.4.2 KitKat Operating System. The KitKat version is said to be one of the smoothest Android versions till date. The phone also comes with a GPU and a Quad core 1.3GHz processor. The chipset is MediaTek, MT6582. Unfortunately the one feature which might hamper the performance of this device is the disappointing 512MB RAM. While most phones today come with a minimum RAM of 1GB, Aqua Style X is left far behind in this race.

Camera and Multimedia:

Aqua Style X has a primary camera of 8.00 Mega Pixel with features such as smile detection, face detection, autofocus, camera effects and flash. The front camera is 2MP. The rear camera has an interesting feature called voice capture options. Other features are panorama, face beauty, HDR, self-timer and tap to capture. The video formats supported are 3GP, MP4 and AVI whereas the audio formats supported are MP3, MIDI and AMR.

Battery and Memory:

To keep the show going, the Aqua Style X has a 1500mAh battery which delivers a talk time of up 6 hours and has a stand by time of 180 hours. The battery could have been better considering the screen size and quality. This could be one of the drawbacks of this phone. The device packs an inbuilt storage of 4GB and an expandable memory limit of 32GB. The internal memory is quite ordinary and might be enough for someone with very basic expectations from a smart phone.

All in all, the Intex Aqua Style X is your usual affordable smart phone with a limited set of features. It is great for people who want a stylish looking phone in a shoe string budget. Due to its limited battery and RAM, it is not ideal for heavy use but would suit someone who uses a phone just for sufficing basic needs. Another phone with similar features is the XOLO Q900s.
