A family tablet has been launched by Micromax with the name Canvas Tab P469 which is very much affordable in price. This is called as tabby rather than tab as it is tab particularly designed for children which gives more parental control over the device for the children along with having more customized mode for the children. It has smart features which are enough for a child to handle this device for games and this can also be used for making calls as it supports SIM.
Features and Specifications
The weight of this tabby is 306g and has a 7-inch large screen with resolution of 1280x800p and the screen is made up of TFT capacitive touchscreen. It has been provided with 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage though this memory is expanded further up to 32GB using microSD card. It has 2MP camera both at front and back and has been equipped with Android v4.4 KitKat OS. It has 2.3GHz dual core processor and the battery it has 3200mAh capacity which is of type Li-ion. It comes with 1year warranty from the company. The connectivity features it has include GPS, Wi-Fi, 3G and Bluetooth.
Design and Quality
This tablet comes with interesting back supports which will definitely be liked by children as they are in attractive catchy colors. The build quality of the device is decent and is made up of good quality plastic. The back is divided into two sections, the top section is metal in build where the primary camera resides along with flash light while rest of the back is all covered with plastic while the front is all glass. The bottom of the screen has three navigation keys while the back carries camera, flash light and the larger speaker grill towards bottom. The top of the screen has the front facing camera and sensor along with small speaker.
OS and Tech
Latest OS has been equipped in this device. KitKat v4.4 is quite latest OS which serves it purpose best in this device and produces quite faster multitasking. This has been given support from the RAM but since the processor is dual core so little slow performance is observed at times.
Camera and Multimedia
It has 2MP camera on both front and rear sides. The rear camera has been supported by the LED light. The performance of the primary camera is not inspiring. It though takes reasonable pictures but the quality of images are not very admiring. The images are quite grainy though under good light, the camera works decent but under low light, its performance gets worse. The videos recorded by it also suffer from same issue as they are quite shaky and out of focus most of the time. The pictures as well as videos lack proper description of the sight. The front camera seems ok for the selfies and the video calls but it also lacks good performance most of the time.
Battery and Memory
Battery in here is decent enough. This battery takes the device working for about 4-6hrs and since it has calling feature as well so this would further reduce the battery time of the device. A tablet has normally this range of batteries and they work for decent number of hours. RAM is 1GB which is no doubt less as this a tablet which has to be higher RAM capacity for which could give it more life. Internal storage is also limited keeping in view the size of the tablet but the expansion to it is decent.

Verdict
These features of this tablet are quite decent and the device has the capacity to give tough competition to its competitors like Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 Neo. The special feature of this tablet is that it has parental control over the device use so that children are always under watch by their parents. This can interestingly be used as a calling phone as it has the SIM card slot. The price is very much under hand and this is the best the tablet in this price range having smart features and performance.
