When it comes a tablet device, HP does tend to make a wide range of products that can suit people from all walks of life. They have been making devices to suit both Windows and Android users and their devices come with a versatile range of sizes and functionality. The HP slate 6 is a new smaller version of HP’s tablet range, it comes with a six inch screen and it is what we call a phablet. It is the first device from HP that supports voice calling and is also quite a lot more portable than other HP devices.
Features and Specifications:
The HP Slate 6 Voice Tab 2 comes with a 6inch IPS capacitive touch screen and has a resolution 720x1280 pixels making it an HD display. The pixels density is 245 pixels per inch and the screen doesn’t get pixelated under normal usage. The Voice tab 2 is powered by a 1.2 GHz quad core processor and its RAM is 1 GB whereas the ROM is 16 GB. The device also supports micro SD cards of up to 64 GB. The device can has dual sim capabilities and can run on 2G and 3G networks. Further connectivity features includes WIFI, Bluetooth, micro USB connectivity and GPS. The primary camera of the Slate 6 Tab 2 is an 8 megapixel sensor whereas the secondary camera is a 2 megapixels camera.
Design and Quality:
The HP Slate 6 voice Tab 2 is a very handsome device, upfront you notice the 6inch screen which covers 72.2% of the body. The android style navigation keys are incorporated in the screen which does take away some of the screen away. Above and below the screen we see a mesh. This mesh on the topside covers the earpiece and the bottom side covers the loudspeaker and the microphone. The secondary camera is located just above the screen. The power button is placed on the left side of the device and can be a bit hard to reach if you are holding the device in one hand and the volume rocker is placed on the opposite side of that. The 3.5mm audio jack is placed on the top side of the tablet and on the bottom end we have the micro USB port. The backside of this device looks like a conventional smartphone with the camera being on the top end then the LED flash below it an the HP monogram beneath it, all of these features are aligned on the middle of the backside.
OS and Tech:
The device is powered by the Android KitKat and the UI hasn’t been tweaked much as it is mostly stock android. The device runs pretty well, though sometimes it may give lag while running on heavy games, this is due to the fact that the device has HD display but doesn’t have enough GPU power to deal with it.
Camera and Multimedia:
When it come to the camera performance the HP Slate 6 Voice Tab 2 is pretty good at that. The primary at the back is an 8 megapixels unit with LED flash and upfront we have 2 megapixels secondary camera. Further features on the camera includes geotagging and autofocus. To complement the HD screen the tablet comes DTS sound which makes the multimedia experience much better.
Battery and Memory:
The HP Slate 6 Voice Tab 2 comes with 3000 mAh battery which can provide standby time of well over 750 hours and up to 13 hours of talk time on 2 G whereas the 3G talk time is less but still the company promises well over 10 hours. The tablets internal memory is 16 GB of which 10 GB is available at your disposal for your apps and Data but if you need more space for you data the micro SD slot can house a card of up to 64 GB.

All in all the HP Slate 6 Voice Tab 2 is pretty handy device it has the best of both worlds as it can give the features of both tablets and a smartphone at the same time. This tablet in the real world will compete against the Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 and to be honest the HP has exceeded the Samsung in terms of looks and performance. So definitely the HP Slate 6 Voice Tab 2 gets a YES!!
