Videocon VA81 Tablet Price in India
Videocon is a company known for their large home appliances like AC and TV sets. Plus Videocon also provides D2H services throughout India at a reasonable cost. In the recent surge of smart phone and tablets in the Indian market we saw many a new company lining up in the race of making Android tablets against international industry giants like Samsung, LG, Lenovo etc. Videocon is one of them and with its recent launch of back to back feature rich tablets it is climbing up the ladder pretty fast. So let's take a look at its latest product the Videocon VA81 and see what it has in store for us.
Features and Specifications
The Videocon VA81 is a GSM Dual SIM tablet with a large 7" capacitive HD display. The display has a resolution of 1024 x 600 pixels and delivers high clarity picture. The tablet comes with a 1.3 GHz Cortez-A7 processor for lightning fast processing speed. A Mali - 400 GPU is loaded into the chipset for high definition image rendering and HD playback at ease. Moreover the tablet comes with Android v4.2 Jelly Bean loaded, which is a little disappointing since I expected an updated version of the OS. Anyway, the device will be able to perform at its best on the Android v4.2 nonetheless. The tablet has a 2 MP rear camera and a front facing 0.3 MP VGA camera. Both the cameras are not able to take high quality image but are quite good. The tablet has 4 GB internal storage space. The storage space can be upgraded up to 32 GB via microSD card. Moreover the Videocon VA81 is equipped with a 512 MB RAM which will suffice your needs. The tablet draws it power from a Li-ion battery pack and is expected to give a standby time of up to 5 hours. So consider charging the tablet several times throughout the day to keep it alive. The tablets features advanced sensors like G sensors and many advanced features like Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, OTG etc.
Design and Quality
The tablet is quite big and features a large 7" display. There are buttons on the upper right side for screen lock and volume control. The buttons are ergonomically placed for better grip and ease of using. The tablet does not have any touch buttons. The dimensions of the tablet are 188 x 108 x 10 mm. As you might have noticed the tablet is a little thick (10 mm) which makes it a bit heavy. The tablet weighs around 310 gm. So carrying around this tablet is a bit challenging. The Videocon VA81 features a glossy design with rounded corners. Overall the tablet is pretty good design wise and has a sophisticated look which is really a deal maker.
OS and Tech
The Videocon VA81 has been loaded with Android v4.2 Jelly Bean, which is a bit surprising, since I expected a better version of Android than this. But the device performs at its best on the OS whatsoever. The device is technologically pretty advanced and features advanced sensors. The device also supports 3G network. The 1.3 GHz Cortez-A7 processor performs up to the mark and delivers high quality performance, suitable for a gamer or a movie buff. Along with the processor the Mali - 400 GPU also delivers HD crisp and clear picture with high level of detail.
Camera and Multimedia
The phone has a 2 MP rear camera and a 0.3 MP VGA front camera. Though Videocon tried to put in the best cameras in the said price margin, the cameras suffer from bad quality. Both in the daylight and in low light the pictures are noisy and of low resolution. Moreover the video quality is not that good either. The 7" HD display is of 1024 x 600 pixels. So it lacks a better HD resolution and might suffer from not having a wider viewing angle. Overall the tablet lacks a bit in the multimedia section. But if we consider the price and compare it with its rival tablets found in the market we will notice that this type of configuration is pretty common.
Battery and Memory
The battery pack is a Li-ion pack, which will not last enough since the display is 7" large. This large display will drain out the battery pretty fast, so it will be better to always keep the charger around you. The tablet has a 4 GB ROM, which is a bit low and disheartening for gamers and movie buffs. The Videocon VA81 features a microSD card slot for memory up-gradation of up to 32 GB. The tablet features a 512 MB RAM.
