HP 7 Plus Tablet Price in India
HP is well known for making a wide range of tablet sizes, ranging from 6inch screens to 10inch screens. Their tablets have always been among the premium devices but lately they have started to develop tablets for the midrange. Comparing these midrange devices to the other competitors, there really isn’t much difference in features and specifications. The HP 7 Plus a new addition to these mid-price range devices. This device comes loaded with a 7inch screen and has a pretty good processor to compliment the screen, making it one of the best choice in this price range.
Features and Specifications:
The HP 7 Plus comes with a 7inch IPS capacitive touchscreen and a very decent screen resolution of 1024x600 pixels. The pixel density is a bit disappointing at just 170 pixels per inch. The HP 7 Plus is powered by 1 GHz quad core processor, making it the best in its class and the device is noticeably fast and swift. The RAM of this tablet is 1 GB whereas the ROM is just 8 GB, but the micro SD card slot can house a card of up to 32 GB, therefore, you have ample space for all your data and apps. The tablet rather sadly lacks cellular connectivity and relies only on WIFI for wireless connectivity. It also lacks Bluetooth and GPS. The HP 7 plus comes loaded with 2 MP primary camera and secondary camera is a tiny VGA sensor.
Design and Quality:
There is nothing groundbreaking about the design of the HP 7 Plus. The first thing you notice about the tablet is that how small the screen is. Which is not actually the case as the screen is 7inch LCD, but the side sills on this device are so big that it gives the illusion of the screen being so small. The volume rocker and the power button are located on the right hand side of the device. Whereas the 3.5mm audio jack, the micro USB port and the micro SD card slot, all are located on the top side of the device. Going to the backside of the tablet we notice the HP monogram right in the center, exposed screw heads on each corner and the camera along located on the top left side of the device. The speaker grill is located on the bottom right corner of the tablet.
OS and Tech:
The HP 7 plus comes loaded with the rather older version Android Jelly Bean. The OS is pretty old and even though the tablet is powered by a quad core processor and a 1 GB ram this OS is still far more memory consuming than the Android KitKat. The UI is fairly standard and no major tweaks have been made by HP.
Camera and Multimedia:
The camera department of the HP 7 Plus isn’t that good. The primary camera is just a 2 megapixels camera and the secondary camera is VGA sensor. This camera interface is very slow and it lags. The picture quality is also not that good as the pictures are washed out even in bright lighting. The screen of the HP 7 Plus is pretty good it is an IPS display and does gives the best viewing angle in its class. The video viewing experience is pretty good on this device, even though it has a single speaker at the back it is pretty loud and clear.
Battery and Memory:
HP 7 Plus comes with a 2800 mAh battery and like all the other 7inch tablets the battery life is pretty good, but still it is lower compared to what the competitors have to offer. The tablet is able to offer well over 5 hours of media usage and since there is no cellular network on this phone so talk time is irrelevant. The tablet has an internal memory of 8 GB and it can be further expanded by up to 32 GB with the aid of the micro SD card slot.
Pros and Cons:
For Pros:
· Affordable price
· Good processor
· Good battery
For Cons:
· Bad Camera results
· No cellular connectivity
· Lack of other connectivity (Bluetooth, GPS)
Verdict:
The HP 7 Plus is definitely a very good option to opt for if you don’t expect your tablet to go out of your home network or you are always connected to some WIFI network. Portability is one issue with this tablet due to lack of a cellular network and therefore if that is what you want you are better off with the Micromax Canvas Tab. But if you want the quad core performance at a pocket friendly price then the HP 7 Plus really does gives what it promises as in this price range there are no quad core processors available.
