It is loaded with Android v4.4 [KitKat] which is quite old but it may receive OS update in future. It has got 2.3 GHz processor and Snapdragon 800 to make it fast. In the memory side, we are getting 16/32 GB Internal storage and we can extend microSD upto 128 GB. Primary Camera is 8MP with features like autofocus, LED Flash which is enough for a tablet. Secondary Camera is 2.1 MP which is again decent for a tablet. Video recording can be done at 1080p or full HD. Design and Quality

The Galaxy Tab S8.4 has a design similar to Samsung Galaxy S5, but still it looks classy. The 8.4 comes in two variant only : Titanium Bronze, which is a dark gold color and Dazlling White which is white. Samsung has lately be trying to make thinner phones and tablets same goes for this tablet, it is stunningly thin and effortlessly light – 8.4 inch and 298 g. Screen is 2560*1600  with AMOLED technology which is quite amazing. It has got a great LCD screen for watching videos. The AMOLED Screen with 4900 mAh battery is an awesome combination. You can watch HD movies for approx 15 hours with full brightness.

OS and Tech

 Samsung Galaxy Tab S8.4 is loaded with Android v4.4.2 or KitKat OS and it is going to get lollipop update soon so you can say it’s up-to-date. It has got 2.3 GHz Quad-core processor which makes it a strong performer. The combination of 3GB ram, 2.3 GHz processor and 4,900 mAh battery makes it one of the strongest performer in the tablet range. Also, Tab S8.4 has got latest finger print security which is something most people doesn’t like.

Camera and Multimedia

Galaxy Tab S8.4 got 8 MP Primary camera and 2.1 MP front camera. Both of the cameras can record in 1080p@30fps making it a good video recorder. Tablets are not for too much photography so getting this much is fine. The back camera can take quite sharp pictures in daylight, at nights you can just LED flash to take awesome pictures. Also, the video playback of this tablet is quite impressive. It can play videos from H.264 to DivX, also it is an ideal device for reading E-Books as the size is perfect. In the speaker side, it has got dual stereo speakers which are loud enough to fill a hall, but it doesn’t except any bass you need to buy a headphone or something like that to enjoy bass.

Battery and Memory

Galaxy Tab S 8.4 comes with 16GB of storage, which will be filled pretty soon but still you can increase your memory with SD Card which is a good point for this tablet. The tablet packs a 4900 mAh battery which will survive a day of heavy usage without recharging. It has got talk time Up to 29h [3g] and music playback for approx. 80 hours.

Verdict

Samsung Galaxy Tab S 8.4 looks like a bigger version of the S5. It has got good OS, battery life and a decent camera. The slim size, design and display of the tablet are the reasons which make it a smart purchase but Tab S 8.4 is a little more expensive. In this price range you can buy Google Nexus or Sony Xperia Z which are better performer than this phone. It’s gorgeous display screen and battery life is the main reason why most of the buyers are going to buy this.
