Features & Specifications: The Blackberry Playbook as the name suggests is a Wi-Fi tablet and does not come with calling facility. Most of us nowadays use our tablets for entertainment and work emails and our primary phones for calling so this should not be an issue. The phone comes with 64GB internal memory and a 1GB RAM. The screen size is 7 inch and display type is TFT capacitive touch screen.
Design and Quality: The tablet is available in Black only. It is pretty well designed and has a smart sophisticated look. The dimensions are 130 x 194 x 10 mm and it weighs 425 grams. The screen size is 7 inches and is LCD capacitive. The resolution is 1024 x 600. It has the capacity to display 16 million colours. The top edge of the phone has the power and volume controls. The light sensor is used to adjust the brightness of the screen according to the ambient brightness.
OS and Tech: The tablet packs the Blackberry OS which is also known as the QNX OS. It was developed by a Canada based company called Quantum Software Systems which was later acquired by Blackberry. The tablet boasts of a Dual-core Cortex-A9 processor running at 1 GHz. The device also comes with a PowerVR SGX540 Graphics Processing Unit and the chipset is TI OMAP 4430.
Camera and Multimedia:The device sports a 5 MP primary camera with 2592 х 1944 pixels capacity and autofocus. Videos can be shot at 1080p@30fps. The secondary camera is 3 MP which is good enough for video calls. Overall the camera quality is decent and much better as compared to some of its competitors. The audio formats supported are MP3, WMA and AAC+. The video formats supported are DivX, WMV, XviD and 3 GP.
Battery and Memory: The device has a non removable Li-Po battery of 5300mAh. This is one of its best features and puts it above a lot of other mid range devices. The talk time is up to 10 hours with multimedia running. Another great feature is its internal memory of 64GB. A lot of devices in this price range offer only 8 to 16GB but the Playbook stands tall at 64GB. The RAM too is pretty decent at 1GB. The device has no card slot for external memory.

Overall the Blackberry Playbook is a great device if you are comfortable without calling facility and with an OS apart from Android or iOS. The decent features are the camera and processor speed. The great features are the internal memory of 64GB and 5300mAh battery. This device is meant for you if you use your device mostly for watching movies and playing games and do not constantly rely on your tab for accessing the internet it can connect to the internet only using Wi-Fi which won’t always be available on the go.
