Swipe Halo 3G Tab
Swipe Halo 3G Tab Tablet Price in India
The Swipe Halo 3G Tab integrates a charming combination of the latest 3G technology and a very powerful RAM that is sure to leave its users their mouth agape. On the flip side, it has an outdated Android OS as well as only one SIM, as well as lacking a GPS. It somehow makes up for this fact by including a number of stunning features (including several built-in apps) in its repertoire. But the backwardness of the tech is likely to give the tab a bad beat among prospective users.
Features and Specifications
Swipe is rumored to live up to its reputation and the Halo 3G tab doesn’t let it flounder. The tab powers a 1.5 GHz processor with 1 GB RAM as well as a 3200mAh battery for a high device lifespan. The SIM card is built to support 3G connectivity allowing SMS, Email, Push Mail and Instant Messaging with considerable ease of use. Users can have the privilege of GPRS, EDGE, WCDMA support, and WiFi internet service along with a wireless USB host and a version 2.1 Bluetooth for file-sharing with others. There’s also a vast collection of entertainment apps that support multiple formats in songs and movies, and a 3.5mm minijack for accommodating a pair of stereo headphones. Its preloaded apps, spanning a wide range of categories from music, games and social networks are sure to satisfy the consumer’s every whim.
Design and Quality
The design is in keeping with the standards of Swipe’s usual fare. The tablet has a sizeable 7” TFT LCD screen with a HD resolution of 800x480 pixels with 133 pixels having a chocolate-bar shaped body with glossy square edges. The screen is 5 point capacitive multi touch and is complemented by a G-sensor and an Accelerometer sensor for detecting motion. The tablet’s dimensions are 193.3x120x11.35mm with SIM and micro-SD slots at its side. It comes with a .3 MP primary camera, but no front camera.
OS and Tech
The device is run by a 1.5 GHz All winner Cortex A8 processor having a 1 GB DDR3 RAM which improves the overall performance by a good amount. However, the tablet suffers a serious drawback as its OS is the outdated Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, when all the others support Jelly Bean OS nowadays. The tablet’s high RAM supports several applications at once, with a smooth user interface and no overloading of the device’s short term memory.
Camera and Multimedia
The back camera is rated at .3MP, and is not a quality one but has digital zooming ability plus a LED flash, and a medium-to-high resolution of 640x480 pixels. Unfortunately, this tablet doesn’t carry any front camera. This is quite a shame, and may disappoint some consumers. The tablet consists of a Flash Support 11.1 Multi Format Video as well as Audio Player and also a MP4 player, aside from voice calling. There is also an FM radio and enhanced stereophonic speakers. Users can also benefit from the preloaded EBook Reader and Olive Office Premium, with many other education-based apps.
Battery and Storage
The battery is rechargeable Li-ion type powering with 3200mAh of energy, with a backup of about 4 hours which is giant one and makes it very worthy. It’s better to warn customers from the get-go that use of too much 3G will make the battery die out too quickly. The 4 GB internal memory can be augmented to 32GB if one uses a micro-SD card. The RAM gives you 1 GB DDR3 storage space.
Pros:
· 1.5 GHz Cortex A8 CPU
· 1 GB DDR3 RAM and 4GB flash memory, stretchable upto 32 GB via micro-SD
· Highly fashionable get-up of the tab
· 3G connectivity with GPRS, WiFi and WCDMA specifications
· Lots of gaming and entertainment apps already installed
· 3200mAh Li-ion battery
Cons:
· Bad backup time of battery
· Rear camera is not there
· Only one SIM present
Verdict
The Swipe Halo 3G Tab merits a fairly decent rating owing to its good 3G service and the presence of a number of pre-loaded apps. However, is quite inferior to tabs like the iBall Slide 3G 7271 which has a stronger dual-core processor with better battery backup and 8 GB internal storage, and all-round better performance. The tab is more likely to be lauded for its media and edu-themed features than for its 3G data services.
