The Adcom Company is quite famous for the electronic devices manufacturing and has a good repute. The company is active in releasing tablets and the latest among them is the Apad A680. This tablet is almost similar to the smartphone in its size and shape and the features. The tablet which is available in market is white in color and has quite attractive in its shape and design and looks very much similar to some smartphone and people may get confused in the first look. The feature and performance of the device is going to be analyzed in this article further.
Features and Specifications
The interesting feature of Adcom Apad A680 is that it supports two SIMs which is no doubt a good addition to it. The screen of the device is less about 6.5-inch and this is the reason this looks like a smartphone. The screen has resolution of 800x400p and is of type capacitive touchscreen. It has Android v4.2 Jelly Beans OS. It has 1.2GHz Dual-Core processor and 512MB RAM. The built-in storage is 4GB. It has two cameras as well among which the front one is 0.3MP and the rear one is of 2MP without any flashlight while the battery is 2500mAh. The connection options in this device are also limited like it has 3G, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.
Design and Quality
Being an affordable device, the build quality of the device is interesting. It is made up of all plastic and the front is glass. The plastic is of better quality and the back provides nice grip to the device. Since, the screen is not very large so this can be easily held in single hand. The right hand side of the tablet has the power button and the volume rocker while the top carries the 3.5mm headset jack. The top of the screen has the front camera, the speaker and the sensor while the back has the rear camera. The overall look and feel of the device is not bad.
OS and Tech
OS in Apad A680 is Jelly Beans which is not bad and works quite decently in other devices but here since the support to the OS from the processor and the 512MB RAM is not enough, so at most of the times, the sluggish performance is also observed especially in playing games and the watching videos on the small screen. The RAM should have been little more enhanced in order to give the OS a performance boost.
Camera and Multimedia
Camera department as usual is not impressive as it has been in other tablets. Here again the back camera is of 2MP while the front one is 0.3MP. The performance of the both cameras is not at all worth mentioning. The images taken by the back camera are too much grainy and since there is no support of flashlight so the night time photography is more terrible. The videos recorded by it are also of low quality which also looks bad while running on its screen. The front camera can only be used for the selfies and sometime for the video chats but at the expense of the quality.
Battery and Memory
The battery here is also not inspiring. The 2500mAh battery life can hardly make the device running for only 1-2hrs and it requires frequent recharging. The RAM is very much limited. 512MB RAM will prove performance bottleneck. The internal memory is also limited and unfortunately there is no further expansion offer being provided in this tablet which is another disadvantage or drawback of this device.

Verdict
The look and feel of the device is though very interesting and it looks just like the smartphone offering 3G calling capability which makes it no doubt an interesting and appealing device but there are other parameters which may prove bottleneck in the performance and fame of this device. The areas where more attention should have been given by the manufacturer include the processor capacity, RAM, internal storage and its further expansion and of course the camera and the battery departments. There are much better options already available in market which are much better than this like Adcom Apad 721C which are though at little higher price but better features like 8GB RAM and 3G calling service. The other tablet which is much better than this one is the Asus Fonepad 7. People will have to look for the pros and cons of the devices before buying but for some people price is the only parameter for which they can compromise other factors so for those people this is a good device.
