Features and Specifications

The processor it holds is Intel Atom Z2760 which makes it about 1.5GHz up to 1.8GHz making it dual core along with providing 1MB RAM. The screen is 10.1-inch large providing good viewing angles which are ultra-wide. The screen type is capacitive multi-touch screen along with a digitizer and is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 2. The internal storage is 32GB/64GB depending on the version of the tablet. Further extension to the memory is also allowed. 2GB RAM is provided in it. Some of the connectivity options here are supported like Wi-Fi as well as Bluetooth along with GPS and NFC. The rear camera is 8MP while the front facing camera is VGA supporting LED light. Few sensors though have been provided in this tablet. It has 2 cells which is 25watt hours battery. OS here is Windows 8.

Design and Quality

Elite Pad 900 G1 is a lighter Windows 8 based tablet which directly aims at the business level users. Its small tablet and is very easy to be handled and carry. The look of the device is quite stylish but it does lack some built-in ports while the processor is also not very powerful so performance lags can also be observed. The weight of this tablet is 620g. Its edges are nicely curved which makes it very comfortable to hold. The battery is non-removable while the back of the tablet is made up of aluminum which makes its look quite solid. The screen is tightly held at its place and the resolution of the screen is also low. For the simple tasks, this tablet is quite good.

OS and Tech

Windows 8 works fine on it and allows for lighter work load on it like reading documents, browsing internet, watching low quality videos etc. it even works fine for some of the downloaded games. OS is good here but since the processor is not very powerful so this is the reason it doesn’t support heavy use of the tablet and the performance gets affected if one tries to do so.

Camera and Multimedia

The two cameras, one is front facing camera which is full HD and records videos in full HD mode along with the LED light while the other is the rear facing which is also having LED light and is of 8MP. The performance of almost all tablet cameras is similar and there should not be much hope from this one as well. The video recording is done efficiently but the quality of the videos are not very good and since the screen quality is also average so there is no fun in watching heavy videos on the display.

Battery and Memory

The battery life here is quite good which allows the device to be sued for 5hrs and 37min. but if the brightness of the screen is reduced so little more time can also be provided by the battery so overall the battery life is quite good. The RAM here is 2GB which is also nice while the internal storage ranges from 32-64GB depending on the version and further expansion to the memory is also provided which is another great thing about the device.

Verdict

As this tablet run on Atom processor so this can be compared with notebook such as Samsung ATIV Smart PC Pro or Surface Pro. Among the entire Windows 8 based tablet which has come across in the market, this tablet has more in-depth accessories and adds-on. One can easily make selection among accessories and select the one which best suit to him/her which will help reduce the issues which are normally raised while working on low quality tablets.  Though, it is not good that HP has not selected to provide HP solution to this tablet which is considered as insignia to HP products. This is an expensive device along with expensive accessories so there are better options also available like Core i5 Surface Pro from Microsoft.
