Asus Transformer Book T100TA
Asus Transformer Book T100TA Tablet Price in India
Asus is counted among the pioneers of the tablet manufacturing. They are no strangers to making tablets that are not only for recreation purposes, but rather help the consumers with their practical work. Asus are famously known for their transformer series, which are devices that double as both laptops and tablets. These devices give the portability of a tablet and the functionality of a laptop, the transformer Book T100TA is yet no exception. T100 is a very highly portable windows tablet with a 10.1 inch display. It comes with a full keyboard which can be detached easily to give the best of both worlds. This is definitely an expensive device and at this price range the T100TA goes up against the premium iPad.
Features and Specifications:
The Asus Transformer Book T100TA comes loaded with 10.1 inch IPS capacitive touchscreen. The display has a resolution of 1366x768 pixels and the pixel density is rather low at just 155 pixels per inch. The Transformer is powered by 1.33 GHz Intel Quad Core processor and has a 2 GB RAM. Whereas the ROM of the tab is 32GB and the card slot can house a card of up to 64 GB. The device has just one single front facing camera and it is rather small at just 1.2 MP. But where this tablet loses marks in its memory and camera department it wins quite a lot of more when it comes to offering the perks of a Windows 8.1 OS and a fully functional keyboard which comes as standard in the box with this device. There is a lack of 2G or 3G connectivity, but the device does comes with WIFI, Bluetooth, micro USB port and when the keyboard is attached you also get a rather handy USB 3.0 port.
Design and Quality:
The Asus Transformer Book doesn’t have anything groundbreaking about its design, rather it has a very simple and generic design. Upfront you have the 10.1 inch screen and although the Windows logo below the screen looks like a capacitive button, it isn’t and it’s just a Windows logo. Above the screen we the camera/light sensor. On the left side of the tablet we have the volume rocker and a Start menu button, whereas the power button is located on the top left side of the device along with an LED notification light. The left hand side houses some stock ports you can expect form any tablet, for instance you have the micro USB port, Micro HDMI and a 3.5 mm audio jack. The back side of the device has a gloss finish, which will be prone to smudges and has the ASUS monogram imprinted in the middle. The detachable keyboard doesn’t have an extra battery pack installed in it unlike other transformers out there. The keyboard is pretty cluttered and will take a bit of getting used to.
OS and Tech:
The Asus Transformer Book T100TA is powered by the Windows 8.1 OS, which as we all know is pretty good when it comes to performing. It can run a wide array of apps and softwares, whereas the multitasking performance is also unmatchable. The OS is very swift and has a very nice feedback. Apart from a few Asus branded apps the OS is stock windows and Asus hasn’t done any changes to the UI.
Camera and Multimedia:
The tablet comes loaded with just a front facing camera and is a 1.2 MP sensor. Which can double as a webcam and a camera. The display of the T100TA isn’t the best display out there in the market. The screen is pretty washed out and when it comes to giving viewing angles the screen gets cloudy quite easily. But the device does come with two speakers at the back, which are pretty loud and have a good sound quality.
Battery and Memory:
The T100TA is powered a by 2 cell Polymer battery and can give up to 11 hours of usage time and up over 9 hours of video viewing time. This device can last you over a day of average use. Whereas the internal memory is just 32 GB and it can be expanded to up to 64 GB with the aid of the card slot.
Pros and Cons:
For Pros:
· Windows 8.1 OS
· Tablet cum laptop
· Superior battery
For Cons:
· Average display
· Low memory
· Cluttered keyboard
Verdict:
The Asus Transformer Book T100TA is a very versatile device. It surely does deliver what the iPad fails to deliver and that is the multi functionality of the Windows 8.1. But if you are only looking for a tablet to fulfill your multimedia needs then T100TA will not suit you. The T100TA is a device for people who want the best of both worlds as it gives the portability of a laptop and functionality of a laptop.
