Lava E Tab Velo+ Tablet Price in India
Lava has added a new feather to its cap with the launch of Lava E Tab Velo + tablet. It is a part of the company’s E-tab series with fairly impressive specifications. The company is known for bringing budget priced smartphones with various specifications. In the Indian budget tablet market, Lava has been successful in terms of launching affordable and reliable devices. Being among the best Indian brands isn’t a cake walk but the omnipresence of Lava is a proof itself. It has added another dimension to the tab market with Velo + which could be a dark horse in the race of budget tablets. Given the price tag, there aren’t many expectations with the device. After the earlier five tablets, this is the sixth and newest addition into its tab portfolio.
Features and specifications
The tab features a 7 inch display (WVGA 800 x 400 pixels) where the pixel density is 133ppi. Although the quality of resolution is fairly decent, the affordability doesn’t make it an issue. This HD capacitive touch screen has 16 M colours. The multi touch screen device connects 3G via external dongle and also supports microUSB and Wi-Fi. The combination of nominal cost and fair configurations makes the device a real bargain. Mail features, document support and other business features are also available in the tab. There is also a video player app and audio player app preinstalled within the tab.
Design and Quality
The tablet uses a 3.5 mm audio jack and comes in black coloured body. Unavailability of any rear camera makes it a bit flat. There is only an ordinary front facing 0.3 VGA camera which provides a below average photographic experience. It is very much the regular tab in appearance and there is nothing unique about its look and feel. It is made up of top quality plastic material which makes the outer surface tough and durable. This device weighs 399 grams, which is unlike the feather light smart devices.
OS and Tech
Lava E Tab Velo + is powered by a 1GHz Cortex A8 processor paired with 512 RAM. It runs on the Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean software which is old enough compared to the ones used in other tablets. Internal storage capacity can be extended via microSD card slot by up to 32 GB to accommodate as many files as possible. No SIM card slot is provided in the device which has Dual Mali-400 graphics and single core processor.
Camera and Multimedia
One of the disappointments of device is unavailability of a secondary camera. Primary camera with 0.3 megapixels is not something to be cheerful about. It can also zoom which is not much of a help in clicking high quality still pictures. A wide range of media files are supported by the tablet. In the audio files, it is compatible with AAC, MP3, WMA, and WAV. The device supports video files like H.263, H.264 and WMV.
Battery and Memory
This tablet is backed by a 2500 mAh battery with average battery life of 4 hours. Standby time is up to 150 hours in this device. The internal memory in the device is 4GB which is further expandable to 32 GB through an external microSD slot. It is enough to store lightweight files which may come in day to day use for the owner.

Verdict
Lava E Tab Velo + has decent configurations with such a low price range. However, the market is full of such low priced tablets with basic functionalities for the user. Many budget priced android tablets are making the rounds in the market. The Digiflip pro tablet, Swipe Halo Fone Tablet, and Ambrane A-7 tablet are also nearly within same price range with a variety of specifications. People with low budget can invest in the device to purse small tasks on a regular or occasional basis. At a price of Rs 3489, this device is a smart buy for the basic needs of a consumer.
