Karbonn Ta-Fone A39 HD Tablet Price in India
Though fairly new to the tablet world, Karbonn has a good reputation of giving a very good value for your money. Their smartphones are decently equipped and very decently priced, so is the case with the new line of tablets. Karbonns tablets are built with the same commitment as the Karbonn smartphones, and if you’re looking for a new tablet from Karbonn the Ta-Fone A39 HD might just be what you need. The Ta-Fone A39 HD as suggested by the name comes with an HD display and has a dual core processor so by the sound of it this tablet is pretty tempting.
Features and Specifications:
The Karbonn Ta-Fone A39 HD comes with a 7inch TFT touchscreen and its resolution is 600x1024 pixels. The device is powered by a 1.2 GHz dual core processor and it has a tiny ram of just 512 MB which coupled with the HD screen makes the screen response a bit slow. The ROM of the Karbonn A39 is 4 GB which can be increased to up to 32 GB with the aid of the Micro SD card slot. A39 has 2 megapixels camera at the back and upfront the secondary camera is just a VGA camera. Many of the smartphones are now moving towards better secondary camera, but this trend hasn’t yet caught on in the tablet market. The A39 rather gladly, supports both 2G and 3G connections. The device further has WIFI, Bluetooth and HDMI connectivity so when it comes to connectivity the A39 handles that department quite well. Other features include, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Google search, basically all the apps that are available on the app store.
Design and Quality:
This tablet is based on a vertical format in the candy bar form. On the top is the phone's speaker grill with the secondary camera to its right. The primary camera is located at the top right back of the tablet, with the speaker grill next to it. On the left side of the tablet is the Karbonn branding and information. On the right edge of this tablet is located the power/screen lock button, with the volume rocker right beneath it. This 7" tablet is sturdy enough to be carried around without the fear of it getting damaged.
OS and Tech:
This tablet runs on 1.2 GHz dual core processor, which allows for faster response within applications. It may not be one of the fastest processors available, but for a budget-friendly tablet, it does the trick. This tablet is operated by the Android software JellyBean (v4.1), which, again, is not one of the most recent operating softwares, but manages for allowance of basic applications to be installed and used. This tablet offers the user both 2g and 3g connectivity.
Camera and Multimedia:
The primary camera of this tablet comes at 2 megapixels along with zoom. However, it does not consist of an LED flash, which is why pictures taken by this tablet must be done so in good lighting. The secondary camera, at 0.3 megapixels, allows for video calls to be made on the go. This tablet also supports several video formats. The display of the A39 is HD and does provide a very vivid and clear picture. It can run HD games quite well, but it is still far from perfect and there is a lot of lag on gaming. The screen can be viewed from many angles and does seem to remain clear and crisp even in bright sunlight.
Battery and Memory:
This tablet is powered by a 3000 mAh battery which is no surprise as many of the 7inch tablets have the same battery. The battery on a single charge can last you over a day with average use, but if you are on a movie marathon then the battery will last you tops 5 hours. Shifting to the memory department, we see that the RAM provided by the manufacturers for this tablet is that of 512 MB, which is pretty less considering the fact that it is a tablet, and which may prove some difficulties while running applications due to the less amount of space available. The internal storage, however, is 4 GB, which is ample for personal data and applications to be stored, and in times of need, can be expanded by up to 32 GB through inserting a microSD card in the slot provided.
Pros and Cons:
For pros:
· HD display
· Good battery timing
· Sturdy design
For cons:
· Small ram
· Lag in loading heavier apps
Verdict:
This tablet does not belong to the entry level category but rather it is in the mid-range price category, and to be fair the device does looks promising but in this competitive market this tab is not the best option available. For instance the Acer Iconia tab which costs a bit more than this device but it is totally worth spending the extra few hundred rupees as it gives better features and specs as compared to this device.
