California based Swipe Telecom has launched the Fablet F3 which is a result of their continuous innovation. It is constantly trying to introduce better and improved devices in the tablet market to create its own place. The company aims to widen its credentials and portfolio by coming up with a range of tablets for the Indian market. It is eyeing the ever growing demand for budget devices in the tablet market. It has a good understanding of customer expectations which is reflected in its devices. The company is presently on a fablet launching spree and has also joined hands with companies like MTV India. This collaboration was meant to come with tablet for music lovers with dual SIM facility and F3 is a step ahead in the direction. It seems to prove that better technology can be available at budget price.

Features and Specifications

The Swipe Fablet F3 comprises a 5inch WVGA capacitive multi-touchscreen. The screen resolution is 480 x 800 pixels. There is a rear camera and a front camera for clicking pictures and capturing videos. This dual SIM tablet supports 3G network and other connectivity options such as Bluetooth, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n and GPS. Presence of dual core processor makes it simpler to download and run high resolution game without any lag. The large screen is decent enough to watch videos and movies. Dual 3G SIM can be used to make personal and professional calls.

Design and Quality

This device has a dimension of 145 x 80 x 10.9 mm and thickness of almost 11 mm weighing 260 grams. Fablet F3 comes with three different back shells namely, black, white and Trendy Blue which are interchangeable. It has a glossy feel with the galaxy grand type of appearance. There are two cameras placed at front and rear side each with the latter having LED flash. On the topmost side, there is space for 3.5mm audio jack. The big display screen also gives a quick touch response without any inner lag. Audio quality is good and music with ear phones plugged is even better.  

OS and Tech

Fablet F3 scores decently in the OS category for it runs on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean powered by 1 GHz dual core processor paired with 512 RAM DDR3. Dual SIM facility gives the voice calling convenience and to choose between two different calling networks. Thus, the user can separate his or personal and professional calls with ease. Android Jelly Bean OS helps in multitasking with ease and access to apps, games and files through Google Play Store. Several icons are rest on home page itself to make UI better and easier. Pre loaded apps gives a fair amount of options in entertainment, education, games and social networking. Heavy graphics game such as temple run works well enough on the device. Analog clock, office suites, 3D weather and easy installer apps are more than handy.  

Camera and Multimedia

The handset features a primary 5 megapixel rear camera with autofocus facility and LED flash. A front facing 0.3 megapixel camera is enough for video calling and clicking selfies. Both these cameras provide decent photographs with nice colour reproduction during day time. A wide range of media files including both audio and video is supported by the device. 

Battery and Memory

An internal memory of 4 GB which is further expandable to 32 GB should be enough to store and carry decent number of files. Some improvement could have been done on 2200 mAh battery which may not perform at its best while gaming, streaming movies videos and talking for a long time.

Verdict

For a price tag around Rs.7000, Fablet F3 delivers more features than any other tablet within this range. It is suitable for those who need a low budget tablet for light tasks and for accomplishing temporary needs. Hardware is also decent enough with standard technical specifications. It will give a fair amount of competition to Samsung Tab 2 which lacks voice calling feature. It may also make the way tricky for Penta T-Pad 7 inch tablet. However, the F3 might have done a bit more on the 512 RAM part. It may turn out to be a major drawback.
