Samsung has begun to unleash its Galaxy A-series smartphones. The Samsung Galaxy A5 (2016) and Galaxy A7 (2016) have been announced for the Chinese market. These phones are now on sale in China. The phones can be found listed on Samsung’s official China website. The Samsung Galaxy A5 (2016) is priced CNY 2,398 (approx. Rs. 25,000) while the Samsung Galaxy A7 (2016) is priced CNY 2,699 (aaprox. Rs. 28,000). Let’s have a quick glance at the specifications on these devices.

Samsung Galaxy A7 (2016)

The Samsung Galaxy A7 (2016) mobile has a 5.5 inch full-HD Super AMOLED display. The phone boasts of an 1.6 GHz octa-core System-on-a-Chip (SoC) and a 3 GB RAM. The rear and front camera units on-board the Galaxy A7 (2016) are  13 megapixel and 5 megapixel respectively. The device has 16 GB of internal memory which can be expanded up to 128 GB via a microSD card slot.

The phone supports all the standard connectivity options such as Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.1, NFC, and USB 2.0. The Galaxy A7 (2016) has an impressive 3300 mAh battery unit, which supports fast charging. The phone also includes a fingerprint scanner and weighs 172 grams.

Samsung Galaxy A5 (2016)

The Samsung Galaxy A5 (2016) mobile is pretty much the Samsung Galaxy A7 (2016) minus a few specs. The Galaxy A5 (2016) sports a 5.2 inch HD Super AMOLED display. It has the same camera specs but the RAM is brought down to 2 GB and the battery capacity reduces to 2900 mAh. It also weighs a little less than the Galaxy A7 (2016). The Galaxy A (2016) weighs 155 grams.

Other expected devices from the Samsung Galaxy A-series

Samsung also has a couple of other devices from the Galaxy A-series lined up for release in 2016. The South Korean giant is expected to announce the Samsung Galaxy A3 (2016) soon. This would be the smallest device in the Galaxy A-series. The Samsung Galaxy A3 (2016) will have a 4.7 inch display, a 1.5 GHz quad-core processor, a 1.5 GB RAM, 16 GB internal memory expandable up to 128 GB via microSD, a 13 megapixel rear camera, a 5 megapixel front facing camera, a 2300 mAh battery, and will weigh 132 grams.

Another device in the Galaxy A-series is the Samsung Galaxy A9. This is a rather interesting addition to the Galaxy A-series. This device boasts of a 5.5 inch display, a 1.4 GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snpadragon 620 processor, a 3 GB RAM, a 32 GB internal memory expandable up to 128 GB via microSD, a 16 megapixel rear camera, and a 5 megapixel front camera.

The previous versions of these devices had an all-metal unibody build but this time Samsung decided to add glass to the fold. This gives the new A-series models an elegant and premium look an feel. The metal layer around the phones is flatter on the edges, giving the phones a sturdy yet glassy feel.
