Asus launched R558UQ laptop at Rs 48,990 powered by Intel Kaby Lake processor

Asus finally launched its latest laptop R558UQ in India on 10th January and has made a significant upgrade in its notebook line-up. It is an advanced and updated version of R558 which was launched in June, 2016. The newly launched laptop R558UQ are available in two models with Core i7 and Core i5 variants with the formed launched at Rs 59,990 and later launched at Rs 48,990 respectively.

Specifications on connectivity and storage

In terms of specifications the laptop is an upgraded version of its previous models. The newly launched R558UQ comes with support for Nvidia GeForce 940MX (N16S-GTR) graphics packed with storage of 2GB DDR3 video RAM. The laptop has also USB Type C ports and supports 1TB of HDD memory and SD card reader. It comes with one port for USB 2.0, USB 3.0 and type C USB 3.1. It has supports for even SD card reader. The variant with i5 core has 4GB of RAM and the other with i7 core has 8GB RAM.

Other features of the laptop

The laptop sports a full HD display screen of 15.6 inch with LED backlit display and has a screen resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. There are two models based on its process with one being 2.7GHz Intel Core i7-7500U processor and other is 2.5GHz Intel Core i5-7200U processor. In terms of graphics it supported only Intel HD 620 integrated graphics. It comes with 2-cell 38Whr Li-ion battery and support many great connectivity features. It is compatible with Wi-Fi, supports bluetooth for instant data transfer, has Ethernet jack, HDMI and has headphone jack.

Conclusion

There are two variants of the upgraded version of laptop launched and both packed with great features. As mentioned by Peter Chang, Regional Head, System Business Group, Asus India during the launch of the laptops – “The demand for the mainstream notebooks has been steadily increasing over the years and hence this segment will be one of our key focus areas this year.” The Asus laptop supports chiclet keyboard integrated with enhanced software and supports Asus smart gesture. The i7 model is available in Glossy Dark Brown colour whereas the Core i5 model is launched in four colour variants which are Glossy Dark Brown, Red, Dark Blue and Matt Golden colours.
